There’s no doubt that targeted traffic from search engines can be extremely valuable to any website. After all, it’s one of the main ways that people find websites in the first place. And if you can get people to your site who are specifically looking for what you have to offer, then you’re more likely to convert them into customers or subscribers.
But what about targeted traffic from Craigslist or other online classifieds sites? Can that be just as valuable, or even more so? Let’s take a closer look at this question.
First of all, it’s important to understand that Craigslist is not a search engine. It’s a classified ads site, which means that people are generally not looking for specific things on it. They’re just browsing through the various ads and seeing what’s available.
That said, there are ways to use Craigslist to generate targeted traffic. For example, you could target specific cities or regions with your ads. Or you could use keywords in your ad titles and descriptions to attract people who are searching for those terms on Google or other search engines.
Another possibility is to post your ad in the “services” section of Craigslist, since many people use that section to find service providers in their area (including web designers, SEOs, etc.).
In general, though, it’s important to remember that Craigslist is not a search engine. As such, don’t expect the same kind of targeted traffic from it that you would from Google or Bing. That doesn’t mean it can’t be valuable, however; it just means you need to approach it with slightly different expectations.
