I have encountered perhaps multitudes of some of the worst products I’ve ever seen online (IMHO) and yet, these same products were quite successful.
Why is a very good question to ask? It is because the marketer was very savvy at driving traffic to the product, service, or site. On the flip side of that proverbial coin, I have encountered some of the best designed websites and products/services, yet these were utter failures. Why would that be the case is another good question to ask? It is due to a LACK of traffic!
After realizing this very fundamental truth after some trial and error, I realized that there were many marketing tools that could assist with the traffic issue. There are AdWord campaigns through a PPC (pay-per-click) medium that you can utilize, along with a host of other alternatives. You can use social networking, or writing white papers. You can do solo ads, or safe-swaps, or even ezines. There’s also article marketing. You can even outsource someone to post classifieds for you to free classified ad sites, though you would need to monitor closely the quality of traffic you may receive from any free traffic sources. You can also use banners to your advantage, though these may clutter a website or blog if you have too many. There are also many other alternatives available to you as well, some free, and some you may have to pay for!
To any beginner or newbie just starting out to make money online, you need to realize that it doesn’t just rain dollars and cents down on you. You have to research, study, and accept failure sometimes (you will stumble at some point), but do not allow this to discourage you. Even the best of the best have learned lessons the hard way. What I have learned fully is one simple, emphatic truth.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE TRAFFIC. If given my preference, I want traffic now and I want it as fast as possible. The best traffic is paid traffic.If you are able to present a fine product or service, remember, for it to be successful, you MUST become a great marketer. To become a great marketer, you must have an advertising budget, even it is a small one at first, then you can scale up as you go. Also, a wise option to consider is once you start earning money online, it is very viable to put back about 20% of any earnings towards more sources of traffic generation. As a wise man once said, “it’s all in the advertising.” That wise man was correct, and traffic generation techniques are the heart and soul of any marketing efforts.
