The last few years has seen an exponentially growing trend of people starting their own blogs on various hobbies and interests. Some treat blogs as online diaries, others to keep in touch with their friends and families, yet others to form new friendships, expand their horizons and reach a wide audience that they otherwise would not be able to.
Many of these bloggers have noticed in due time that – whether they originally intended it or not – they started to get a strong following of readers from all over the world. And they noticed the number of blog readers increasing. This is not an unusual phenomenon. If you write interesting posts, if you write regularly and on topics that hold interest for others as well, people will notice your blog and will start reading it. They will subscribe to your blog to keep up with what you write.
Since the movie Julie and Julia, based on the blogging experiences of Julie, who regularly posted on her blog about her amusing experienced with Julia Child’s recipes for 365 days, this trend of people starting their own blog has started a regular eruption.
But now the question for all the blogging enthusiasts is: can I make money from blogging?
The answer is: Yes, you can.
And the truth is: but it’s not that simple as writing about your passion, somebody noticing you and getting the next Hollywood deal. So for the rest of us, not so lucky with Hollywood deals, how can we make money from blogging?
There are several ways one can make money with blogging, including affiliate marketing, with Google AdSense program, by selling banner ads, by writing articles for other webmasters, and of course also by selling your own info products and marketing it through your blog.
Two of the most common ways to make money are affiliate marketing and Google AdSense program.
Affiliate marketing means that you sign up with various affiliate programs, and when you write your blog posts, you change slightly the angle of writing. While before you were writing merely about your passion, now your blog post (at least some of them) should also include descriptions and a few words about the affiliate product that you want to get commission for. And the relevant keywords should be then linked to the affiliate product’s website, links which will include your affiliate ID given to you by the company that you originally signed up with, so you can earn your commission when a reader goes ahead and purchases the products that you advertise on your blog.
Google AdSense, on the other hand, works a bit differently. Here your purpose is not to advertise a particular product, but to focus on a tight niche and write pointed articles with the relevant keywords included, so that Google can target their ads to be relevant on your page to the reader of your article. Of course, the first step here is to sign up with the Google AdSense program. If you already have a Google account, such as a Google email account, you can sign up with AdSense quite easily. Same if you already have a Blogger account/blog.
There is much more to making money with blogging, however this introduction should give you a glimpse into the endless possibilities that making money with blogging offer you. All you need is get started. The rest will come with experience, time and patience. You will not make money with blogging from the first day. Making money online takes time. But it can be done, as already thousands of people have already proved it over and over again.
