Virtually everyone that has a product these days wants to sell them on the internet. It baffles me to see even internet novice call to tell me they are interested in selling their products on the internet.
Several question come to my mind each time I entertain such question:
Why in this world do these people prefer to sell their product on the internet?
Could it be that they feel it is easier to sell online than offline?
Or that they can make more money selling online than offline?
Or that they prefer to earn money in hard currency?
I’ve been privileged to learn from Anthony Robbins that the two major forces that drive a man are
1. the desire to avoid pain, and
2. the desire to gain pleasure
With this understanding, I came to the conclusion that the key reason why majority of the people prefer internet marketing is to avoid the pain of rejection associated with selling offline and gain the pleasure of sitting right before their computer; in the comfort of their homes to earn money selling to the entire world or country.
To an extent, such is possible; however, there is no easy route to genuine riches, no matter what anyone tells you.
Sure, you can sit right in front of a computer and earn money online; many have done it and millions are presently doing it. However, you must have to first of all:
a. sacrifice some good time and money learning the process of internet marketing
b. sacrifice money on internet marketing as well
c. sacrifice time, money and effort to master the acts of sales letter and advert writing, on other effective free internet publicities
Remember, when we talk of marketing your products online, we are talking about using the various skills needed to drive as many traffic as possible to your website.
It’s very important to note that people do not see physical products on the internet when they are shopping around; what they see are graphics and information. That means, what induce people to buy your product are the contents of your website.
To sell favorably on the internet you need to master some skills:
1. The skill of writing very catchy adverts: Most of the times you need to drive traffic to your website through internet advertising. You need to learn the type of words to use in order to attract your target audience to your website.
2. The skill of writing irresistible sales letter: when your target audience gets to your website, your sales letter is what would make them decide whether to buy or not to buy your product.
3. The skill of driving traffic to your website: there are several ways of driving traffic to a website.
You will have to spend enough time to learn and master all these areas in order to drive traffic to your website and make sales.
Is online marketing still attractive to you?
If yes, then your first step is to start learning…not earning. On the internet, you just have to first of all learn, then work, before you earn. It is only in the dictionary that success comes before work.
