It’s good to go back from time to time and reassess under-performing content. Perhaps the issue is you’re targeting the wrong keyword phrase with a page. You may have a great head start on ranking for a different keyword phrase. I look at two recent cases where I did four specific things for client content and got them ranking for a different keyword (with the same base article). Change the title tag, change the H1, change and 301 the URL, add more content to existing content to flesh out the start of an idea. For these two different articles on two separate sites, they got into the top ten very quickly for the new target keyword phrase.
