Think that just having a Facebook or Twitter page is enough? Think that the thousands of Fans/Followers on your page are seeing your posts? The answer is NO!!!
You have to get your fans to use your page and engage with conversation.
In the race for Like supremacy you might have accumulated thousands of Facebook fans, but they almost never return to your page or actually do business with you.
So you think that when you post on your Facebook page it appears on all the profiles of your Fans?
I’m sorry to disappoint, but it doesn’t work like that. In some way Facebook monitors who and what users engage and monitor their wall/page activity.
The point of this article is that you should be actively engaging with your user base and I want to provide some useful tips on how you can do that?
SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT TIPS:
1.) Run polls or surveys and get their input into what they want. Example: Vote for the best player of the month
2.) Combine that with competitions and give them a reason to like what you are doing. Example: Win an iPad by tagging this photo.
3.) Engage buy asking Yes or No questions. Example: Do you like the new __________ mobile phone?
4.) Ask your users what they are doing at the moment
5.) Ask True or False questions Example: True or False. 50% of Facebook users log on daily?
6.) Fill in the blank spaces. Example: I’m sitting at home and __________
7.) Ask for opinions on a subject matter. Example: What do you think is wrong with the new policy?
8.) Ask for tips. Example: How can we improve the experience?
The whole idea is to get people engaged in what you do, but most importantly in what they say about you and their perception about your brand. No use in having the numbers out there on Facebook and Twitter, but it has no value.
By asking these questions the users feel important in answering them, because you are now asking their opinion and not telling them what to think.
This concept has real value as the traditional sense of marketing did not incorporate this concept, the consumer felt left out ad that could the reason only 14% of consumers trust advertising.
Ensuring your business has a connection with their consumers are quite important and by following these tips you could achieve this quite easily.
Good luck and see you out there.
