Do you want more website traffic? You know you need to get more visitors to your website, but it seems that website promotion is either very time-consuming or extremely expensive. What can you do?
You’re half right in your belief about what it takes to get traffic and promote your website. If you go about getting visitors to your website, there are primarily two options — you invest your time and energy, or you invest money. Of course, you can also invest both.
1) Invest your time and energy
The key technique when it comes to investing time and energy is article marketing. It seems like an easy enough way because it’s free.
Of course the idea that it’s free assumes that your time is not worth anything. And I sure hope you think more highly of yourself than that. Still, if you have more time than money, this would be a good option to get you started.
Unfortunately, many people who first try to go the article marketing route are approaching it in a sub-optimal way. As a result, they get very little return on their investment of time.
Still, article marketing can work very well if you know how to write the articles in a way that makes people read them all the way to the end and click on the links in your resource box.
This method also has a big advantage — once published, the articles will usually stick around in cyber space and can bring you traffic and visitors for months and years to come.
2) Invest your money
The second approach is to invest money for traffic. There are many ways to invest your money in order to get website traffic. The most obvious and common of those is Pay per Click advertising.
Whether you use AdWords or another avenue, it’s costly, and there’s usually a steep learning curve as well. What this means is that you need deep pockets, although if you do and you know what you’re doing, you can indeed make big money that way. It’s especially effective if you want lots of traffic in a hurry.
There are other ways to invest money into bringing traffic as well, including solo ads and advertising in classified sections. The big drawback they all have in common is that as soon as you stop paying for your advertising, the resulting traffic will stop.
3) A combination
You can also invest your money by outsourcing the so-called “free” methods, i.e., have other people write your articles for you. That way, you can leverage yourself, and you get the benefits of the long-term website traffic that articles can bring.
4) More methods
Of course that’s not the end of the possibilities. There are lots of additional ways to get website traffic and attract visitors, including forum marketing, ad swaps, and social media marketing. In addition, you can leverage your articles and other content by syndicating them across the web. The good news about those methods is that not that many people know about them, so you may able to promote your website without competing with everyone else.
