Introduction:
AdMob is a mobile advertising company founded by Omar Hamoui. The name AdMob is a portmanteau for “advertising on mobile”. It was incorporated in April 2006 and acquired by Google in November 2009. AdMob allows advertisers to use Google technologies to monetize and promote their mobile apps with the goals of driving more in-app purchases, as well as reaching new customers through app install ads
Creating an AdMob account is quick and easy. You will need a Google account to sign up for AdMob. Once you have signed up and logged in, you will be prompted to create your first ad unit. You can choose between banner, interstitial, rewarded, or native advanced ad units.
Banner ads are the simplest and most common type of ad unit. They are static image or HTML5 ads that are displayed at the top or bottom of the screen. Interstitial ads are full-screen ads that cover the entire app interface. They are typically displayed during natural transition points between content, such as after a game level is completed or while an article is loading. Rewarded ads offer users a reward, such as an extra life in a game, in exchange for watching an ad. Native advanced ads blend in with the app’s design and feel like a natural part of the user experience.
Creating an AdMob Unit ID Banner Ad:
1) Sign in to your AdMob account at https://www.google.com/admob/.
2) Click Apps in the sidebar on the left, then select your app.
3) Click + Add ad unit button on top right corner above ad units table.
4) A “Create new ad unit” modal will appear; select Banner as Type then enter a name for this ad unit (e.g., “Banner Home Screen”). Make sure that parent ad unit is selected as correct id (e.g.,”App ID”). Save and continue. You’ve now created a banner ad unit!
