Introduction
The Los Santos Summer Special in GTA Online introduced a multitude of new co-operative multiplayer missions, races, cars, weapons and game modes – one of which is the brand new Lab business. In this GTA Online Lab Business Guide, we’ll be giving you all the information you need to get set up with your very own Laboratory business, including tips on making money with the Lab and becoming a successful CEO.
What is the Lab Business?
The Lab business is a new co-operative multiplayer mission type that tasks players with stealing and selling highly volatile chemicals. These chemicals are used in various industries across Los Santos, and as such are in high demand and can be sold for a large profit. In order to steal these chemicals, players will need to break into one of the many chemical warehouses dotted around the map, and then make their escape without being caught by the police. Once back at the Laboratory, the chemicals can be processed into a more stable form and sold on for a tidy profit.
How to Make Money with the Lab Business?
The key to making money with the Lab business is to maximize your profits on each sale of chemicals. To do this, you’ll need to ensure that you’re stealing as much of each chemical as possible from each warehouse, and then processing it into its most valuable form before selling it on. In order to make sure that you’re stealing enough of each chemical, it’s recommended that you have at least four players in your group – any less than this and you’ll likely find it difficult to make a profit.
Once you’ve got your group together, head over to one of the many chemical warehouses around Los Santos (marked on your map with a yellow icon). When you arrive at the warehouse, use your binoculars (or scope) to scope out the security guards – there’ll be anywhere between two and six guards patrolling the premises. Once you’ve got an idea of their patrolling patterns, have one or two players distract the guards while the rest of your team breaks into the warehouse and starts stealing as much of each chemical as possible. It’s important that you’re quick about this – if the security guards spot what’s going on they’ll raise an alarm, which will bring waves of police officers down on your location. If this happens, it’s likely that at least some of your team will be arrested – meaning that you’ll have lost valuable time (and money) for nothing. So move quickly but carefully!Once you’ve got all of the chemicals that you can carry, make your escape from the warehouse and head back to your Laboratory – marked on your map with a blue icon – as quickly as possible. When you arrive at your Laboratory, approach one of your team mates who’s standing near a small van – this is where you’ll be storing all of the chemicals that you’ve just stolen. Your team mate will then ask you how much of each chemical you want to process – remember, it’s important that you process as much as possible in order to maximize your profits!Once all of the chemicals have been processed (which will take around five minutes), another team mate will appear near another small van – this is where you’ll be selling your processed chemicals. Approach them and they’ll give you a list of potential buyers – choose whichever buyer offers you the best price for each type of chemical (you can check what each type is worth by looking at their prices in dollars per unit). Once all of chemistry sales have been made successfully without getting busted by police (which can happen if they see illegal substances being sold on public roads), congrats! You’ve just completed a successful run of the GTA Online Lab business!
