You’ve probably heard of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and lead generation, but what is pay-per-lead (PPL) marketing?
PPL marketing is a type of affiliate marketing in which the affiliate is paid for each lead that they generate. A lead is generally defined as a potential customer who has shown interest in the advertiser’s product or service.
In order to generate leads, affiliates typically use one or more of the following methods:
• Display advertising: Affiliates can use banner ads, text links, or other forms of creative to promote the advertiser on their website or blog.
• Email marketing: Affiliates can send out email newsletters or solo emails promoting the advertiser’s products or services.
• Search engine marketing: Affiliates can use pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization, or other methods to generate traffic to the advertiser’s website.
• Social media marketing: Affiliates can use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to promote the advertiser’s products or services.
