The main reason for this increase is the continued growth of the Facebook user base. In June 2012, Facebook had 955 million monthly active users (MAUs). This is an increase of 15 million MAUs from May, and an increase of 45 million MAUs from April. In one year, Facebook has gone from 704 million MAUs to 955 million MAUs.
The number of daily active users (DAUs) has also increased significantly over the past year. In June 2012, Facebook had 552 million DAUs. This is an increase of 8 million DAUs from May, and an increase of 28 million DAUs from April. In one year, Facebook has gone from 483 million DAUs to 552 million DAUs.
The number of mobile MAUs has also increased significantly over the past year. In June 2012, Facebook had 543 million mobile MAUs. This is an increase of 23 million mobile MAUs from May, and an increase of 61 million mobile MAUs from April. In one year, Facebook has gone from 432 million mobile MAus to 543 million mobile MAus.
With such a large user base, it’s no wonder that Facebook is now serving more than 50 billion banner ads per month. And with the continued growth of the user base, it’s likely that this number will continue to increase in the future.
