There are a number of cheaper PPC advertising alternatives to Google AdWords. Here are five of the best:
1. Microsoft Advertising (formerly known as Bing Ads): Although not as large as Google, Microsoft’s search engine still has a considerable market share – around 33 percent in the US, for example. And, according to recent studies, it is actually cheaper to advertise on Microsoft than on Google. One study by WordStream found that the average cost per click on Microsoft was $0.58, while on Google it was $0.66.
2. Yahoo! Gemini: Gemini is Yahoo!’s answer to AdWords and, like Microsoft Advertising, it offers cheaper costs per click than Google – an average of $0.50 according to some reports. It also has the advantage of being able to target users across both mobile and desktop devices.
3. Amazon Advertising: Amazon is the world’s largest ecommerce platform and its advertising service offers a number of advantages over other PPC options, including the fact that you can target shoppers who are already in “buying mode”. Costs per click can be as low as $0.02 for some products, making Amazon a very cost-effective option for advertisers.
4. AOL Advertising: AOL offers a range of advertising solutions, including display ads, video ads and sponsored listings (which work in a similar way to Google AdWords). Costs per click can be quite low – around $0.10 in some cases – making AOL a good option for those on a tight budget.
5. Facebook Ads: Although not strictly a PPC platform, Facebook Ads does offer some features that are similar to traditional PPC ads (such as targeting by location, interests and demographics). The average cost per click is around $0.30, although this can vary depending on your industry and target audience
