So now you have decided to enter into the world of freelance or start an online business whether you just have a hefty argument with your boss or have heard a that many people got rich in freelancing.
I will not offer strike it rich schemes because I think that there is no plug and play in earning profits, one has to work smart to succeed in any endeavor.
Below is the basic list in getting you started in freelancing:
1. Set your goals.
Setting your goals is very important, it will determine whether you have achieved what you wanted to do or not. Some examples are:
a. Increase AdSense earnings from $10 to $20 per day.
b. Establish 10 website in a year.
Just remember that goals must be specific and has time frames, don’t say I will establish many sites this year. Without goals you might end up being blown by the wind with no direction.
2. Research
Research what the current market is doing, you cannot offer web templates at $500 while your competitors are offering $50. You will have a hard time getting customers if you are offering high prices and low services. You must be competitive and one way to do that is research.
3. Plan
Organize what you have research and put everything into planning. There is an old adage: ‘how can you get there if you do not know where you are going’.
4. Execute
Carry-out the steps that you have undertaken. Just do it. Remember that the only way to tell whether your plans are correct or not is by executing what you have plan.
5. Evaluate
You must evaluate what you have done after the execution stage. Do not evaluate before the execution, a lot of entrepreneurs end up procrastinating and got stuck in the Planning stage.
6. Repeat
Whether you have reached your goals or not repeat the steps and modify. A lot of successful freelance businesses do not quit in their endeavors. They just repeat the steps until they have finally reached their goals. And when they succeed in getting their goals they change it to a much higher challenging goals.
These steps are the basic foundation in freelancing or starting a business effectively. Good luck and just remember ‘Quitters don’t Win’. Welcome into thee world of freelancing!
