You have to realize that the more profits you can make from your site, the more money you can afford to spend on buying more ads and still make a profit.
So what you want to do is work really hard to make sure you can get your system profitable on Google’s Content Network. Then what you can do is go into your niche and buy the most expensive advertising that you can find and hopefully still make a profit.
