Web Service is one of the types of API (Application Programming Interface) which supports HTTP protocol
APIs are set of rules/protocols to communicate between two applications
Types of Web Service:
• SOAP
• Restful webservice(REST)
SOAP:
• SOAP – Simple Object Access Protocol
• SOAP uses xml to send request to the server
• In return, it gets xml response
• It uses http protocol for communication
WSDL –
• It stands Web Service description language
• It describes methods available in webservice with req and response types
REST:
It stands for Representational State Transfer
To work on REST, we require:

• Methods: get, post , delete etc
