As an Amazon KDP member, you can earn up to 70% royalties on ebooks that you sell through the Kindle Store. And, if you choose to enroll your book in the KDP Select program, you can earn even more money.
With KDP Select, you can earn royalties from Kindle Unlimited and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. And, if your book is borrowed through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, you will also earn a bounty.
A bounty is a one-time payment that is equal to the number of pages read by the person who borrows your book. So, if someone borrows your book and reads 100 pages of it, you will earn a $100 bounty.
The bounties are paid out each month, and they are based on the number of pages read by Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owners’ Lending Library members during that month. The more pages that are read, the higher the bounty payout will be.
To be eligible for a bounty payout, your book must be enrolled in KDP Select and must be available for borrows through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. You do not need to do anything special to enroll your book in KDP Select or to make it available for borrows through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
If you are not a KDP Select member, you can still earn up to 70% royalties on ebooks that you sell through the Kindle Store. But, you will not be able to participate in the Kindle Unlimited or the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library programs and you will not be eligible for bounty payments.
