There are a lot of different ways that affiliate marketers can make money online. One of these sites is to use a site called Hub Pages to provide excellent content and a link to the affiliate program you choose to promote. However, since you are using their system, you need to make sure you stick with their terms of use.
The basic steps to successful affiliate marketing apply here as well. Just like with any affiliate business, care needs to be taken in finding a good niche to work, excellent keywords, and a good product to promote. Also, once the hub is published, it should be promoted to get the most traffic possible. But, there are some things to consider that are fairly unique to Hub Pages.
Focus on Great Content
Like all affiliate marketing endeavors, the focus is on providing the reader and potential customer with excellent content. With Hub Pages, however, this focus is even more important. They will flag your hub for spam for a number of reasons and if you aren’t careful, your hub will get flagged too.
But, if you write an article of around 500 words and post it on the site with your keyword in the title, this should safe guard you from getting flagged. Also, don’t include anything from eBay, Amazon, or any of the other programs including Kontera or AdWords. This will detract from your overall affiliate sales.
Don’t Post Affiliate Links Right Away
Another way to safeguard your content from being called SPAM is to treat your affiliate links differently than you normally would. Put together your hub and post your article with a picture. Publish it, and then give the hub a few days to get some traffic and get established. After a few days, go back and edit your lens and only include one link to your affiliate product with a strong call to action.
Wording Your “Call to Action”
So, what does it mean to have a strong call to action? When it comes to Hub Pages, it is helpful if you understand the purpose of the site. Hub Pages is devoted to providing good content. Your job is to put together a hub that fulfills a need and/or answers a question that the reader may have.
But, don’t give the reader everything. Let them still have a question or two in their minds that you don’t answer, but that the product does answer. That way, you can tell them that if they want more information, they can click on the link and hopefully make the purchase. If you keep all of these things in mind while affiliate marketing with hub pages, it will help you make more money with them.
