By the end of this article, we hope that you would have understood what affiliate marketing is and how it can benefit you.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts. – Wikipedia
In simple words, it is a type of referral marketing where you earn a commission for promoting someone else’s product or service. For example, if you are an Amazon Associate and someone buys something from Amazon after clicking on your affiliate link, Amazon will give you a commission for that sale.
How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?
Affiliate marketing works by connecting merchants with potential customers. The merchant pays the affiliate a commission for referring customers to their site. Basically, it’s a win-win situation for both the merchant and the affiliate.
Now that we know what affiliate marketing is and how it works, let’s take a look at how to start with affiliate marketing without a website or blog step-by-step:
1) Choose an Affiliate Network: The first step is to choose an affiliate network. There are many different types of affiliate networks out there but we recommend choosing one that suits your niche best. For example, if you are in the fashion industry, then Rakuten Linkshare would be a good choice. Once you have chosen an affiliate network, sign up for an account and apply to become an affiliate for your chosen merchant(s).
2) Find Affiliate Programs: Once you have been approved as an affiliate by your chosen merchant(s), it’s time to find appropriate affiliate programs that fit your website or blog content. This can be done by visiting the merchant’s website and looking for their affiliate program page or contacting them directly and asking if they have any available programs. Make sure to read the terms and conditions of each program carefully before promoting it on your site. Some programs may require that you have certain content on your site before they will approve you as an affiliates while others may not have any such requirements. Once you have found suitable programs, sign up for them and get your unique affiliate links that you can use on your site or blog to promote the merchant’s products/services. Be sure to keep track of all your links so that you can see which ones are performing well and which ones are not so that you can adjust accordingly. Also, keep track of your sales and commissions so that you can report them accurately when tax time comes around. And lastly, always remember to disclose clearly on your site somewhere (preferably in the footer) that you are using affiliate links so that your visitors are aware of it before they make a purchase from your site. This will not only help build trust between you and your visitors but can also help prevent any potential legal issues down the road (more on this later). class=”lh-14″ itemprop=”description”>3) Start Promoting: Now that everything is set up, it’s time to start promoting! There are many ways in which you can promote your merchant’s products/services such as through banner ads, text links, email newsletters, social media posts/ads
