Note: ALWAYS buy 2 YubiKeys. They don’t have to be the SAME exact model (you can go cheaper for a secondary), but you do NEED 2. If you lose one, you won’t be able to reset it without the other. Most companies that allow you to use a YubiKey also require 2 to be set up on the account. So, no, you cannot get away with just 1.

I should have sprung for the yubikey 5. The yubikey security is a pain for apps &sites not setup for it. Work’s great for mt Microsoft accounts & iPad but amizon and other sites not setup for it, I am still trying to figure out how to do it.

The basic security key is all I wanted, it was a bonus being the cheapest version aswell.
Able to be used to secure online accounts like Gmail as a hardware token. And locally for device log on, ssh keys, sudo privileges. TTY access.
Get 2 as if set up correctly if you lose your only one you won’t get back in. Add the second key to the Auth files the same as the first for either to log you in and your good to go.
