My little one loves this LCD doodle pad. It has been a lifesaver on long car trips. She feels like she’s getting a tablet and I love that she’s using her imagination and creativity while working on her coloring skills.
Pros: No messes (no melted crayons in the back seat of the car!
Looks like a “tablet”, complete with push button that erases a drawing
Ability to lock a drawing so it doesn’t get erased before everyone can use it
Comes with an extra battery!
Cons: There’s no way to secure the stylus to the pad, so if you have a toddler, the stylus disappears in the
back seat of the car within 5 minutes and requires 30 minutes of searching to find it again.
Uses a button battery–it is a large one, and the cover of the tablet is hard to get into, but
toddlers/young children are known for getting into impossible places.
It’s more than a bit difficult to take the stylus from its holder at the back of the tablet
Overall, it’s a neat little product. My daughter quickly realized that she could draw on it with her fingernail, but I had to hot glue some string to the back of the tablet to create a way to keep the stylus from going AWOL. We have a smaller version of this that has a stylus keeper string and it is ever so much easier to keep track of everything that way.
