The world’s sexiest rugby player isn’t just a pretty face. Alex Kay is a Kandy Magazine model, professional rugby player, and social media influencer with a following of over 1.4 million. Born in England and raised in New Zealand, Alex now calls Los Angeles home.

We caught up with Alex to talk about his modeling career, his love of rugby, and what it’s like to be one of the sexiest men in the world.

Tell us about your modeling career. How did you get started?

I was actually discovered by Kandy Magazine while I was playing rugby in New Zealand. They approached me about doing a shoot, and I was really excited to do it. I had always wanted to model, so it was a great opportunity.

I’ve been modeling for Kandy for a few years now, and it’s been amazing. I’ve gotten to travel all over the world and meet some amazing people. It’s been a lot of fun.

What is your favorite part about modeling?

I think my favorite part is getting to meet so many different people from all over the world. I’ve gotten to work with some really talented photographers and stylists, and it’s always great to meet new people in the industry.

You’re also a professional rugby player. How did you get into that?

I actually started playing rugby when I was six years old back in England. My dad played rugby, so it was kind of inevitable that I would end up playing too. I moved to New Zealand when I was 12, and that’s when I really started taking it seriously.

I played for a few different teams in New Zealand before moving to Los Angeles to play for the LASC Raptors. Rugby is such an amazing sport, and I feel very lucky that I get to play professionally.

What do you love about rugby?

There are so many things that I love about rugby. It’s such an intense sport, and I love the physicality of it. It’s also a very strategic game, so there’s a lot of thinking involved which I enjoy as well. And of course, there’s the camaraderie among teammates which is unlike any other sport.

You have quite a large social media following with over 1 million Instagram followers . What do you enjoy about being an influencer? What are some of the challenges that come with it? Being an influencer is something that I never expected or planned for , but it’s something that I’ve grown to enjoy . It’s great being able to connect with so many people from all over the world , and hearing their stories . Sometimes it can be challenging , because there’s a lot of pressure to be perfect all the time . But at the end of the day , I’m grateful for the platform that social media has given me .

You were recently named one of the sexiest men alive by People magazine . How does it feel to be considered one of the sexiest men in the world ? It’s definitely flattering , but it’s also surreal . It’s not something that I ever thought would happen , but it’s nice to know that people find me attractive .

Do you have any advice for aspiring models or athletes ? My advice would be to just go for it . If you have dreams or aspirations , don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve them . Just go out there and work hard , and anything is possible .
