This wireless 6×4 tablet is otherwise known as S640W, and yesterday, when I had the most atrocious experience with Ugee’s Q8W bluetooth tablet, I immediately tried to cancel the delivery of the S640W, but it was too late. And I am delighted it was too late to cancel this tablet because it’s EXCELLENT.
The convenience of this wireless Ugee was all the greater because I have and love XP-Pen tablets, and the stylus of this Ugee is identical to the stylus of my XP-Pen G640, that is to say very, very good. The wireless capability makes the Ugee extremely convenient, and the response is smooth and immediate. I tested it with drawing and with writing in Nebo, and in both scenarios the tablet worked very well and allowed me to concentrate on the task of drawing/writing, without worrying about strange behaviour from the tablet itself.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this gadget, and since XP-Pen themselves don’t seem to have a wireless version of their G640, I’d also recommend Ugee S640W to users like me who love their G640 and want to have a wireless version of it as well.
Yesterday, when writing the (deservedly) negative review of Ugee Q8W I had doubts as to the reputability of Ugee as a company. Now that I’ve seen this excellent tablet I think it’s probably the case of different product lines in the same company. As I said in the Q8W review, perhaps, with no buttons at all, it’s intended as a toy and as such can’t be held to the same expectations as something intended for use by adults with deadlines and work to do. Well, this S640W is most certainly NOT a toy. It’s very useful, and not just for artists. Nebo’s handwriting-to-text conversion works like a dream, and even if you handwrite in apps with lesser handwriting-to-text capabilities (OneNote, Notability, Goodnotes), still this tablet is a brilliant alternative for people who can’t afford or just don’t want to faff about with things like iPads, glass screens and all.
