To start, I had a hard time setting this up. I have a long complicated wifi password and it would timeout while I was typing it in. Finally I typed everything into notepad and copy and pasted it into the setup window and got it to work. So far its worked fine. I’m using it as a wifi to ethernet bridge for my TiVo Mini which only has an ethernet port. If I had to do it again, I don’t think I would purchase it. It only has one status LED, so you can’t monitor the status of the 2.4 and 5GHz networks just by looking at it. Other WiFi to Ethernet Adapter have this feature. Its hard to setup, it lacks separate status LEDs for each network, but after getting it setup its working – 4 out of 5 stars.

I do not know what others received; however, the unit I got was very buggy in set up and basically dead at the end.

First, the WPS did not work. I moved on to the web application, which was straightforward enough, but was at first kicked out from it a couple of times. I finally got logged on, and set everything up. Then, when the unit went to extend, it lights up green, like it was connected to the router. May be it was, but it simultaneously stopped broadcasting its wifi. Ok, sure reset the unit, tried setting up again, and same result. Checked to see if any ethernet signal out, and nothing there either.

Ok, good luck anyone with this one.

Received the product and the instructions were spot-on perfect! This device has two (2) options to install it — Using their admin interface, or using WPS. I had to try both only to find out that the WPS method was the easiest although it didn’t quite let me choose what I wanted for my WiFi SSID (granted, I could go in and give it a new name, but this process wasn’t worth doing since the goal for my project was just to use the Ethernet port anyway.)

The signal strength is fantastic on this device! It only has one light in the front – It blinks red if it’s not connected, and steady green if it is. This makes it easy to spot if there’s a problem or not.

The initial connection time is a bit tricky at first as it took about 2 minutes to make the connection. I noticed that it would sometimes connect, then disconnect, then reconnect – A process that could take 2-3 minutes total – but would stay connected upon the reconnect.

The admin portal is very optionless and is really designed for the basic consumer in mind. There isn’t a lot of advanced options available that I could see, but to be honest it didn’t seem necessary anyway.

Overall, I’m NOT DISAPPOINTED with this purchase at all! It’s a great product and has great instructions included. When using WiFi 6 connections, I’d highly recommend using the WPS option for a bit more simplicity. This was the secondary option listed in their guide and it seemed to work like a charm!

I’ve been disappointed in the past by the longevity of these devices, so that remains to be seen. I will say, however, this device seems more substantial than others. The antennas adjust to allow use in either plug in an outlet without blocking the other. Plugged it into the wall. Waited for the blinking red light. Attached the included ethernet cable from my laptop to the port on the extender. Logged into the IP provided in the instructions and joined the existing Wi-Fi networks on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. Literally took a couple minutes. Hoping it lasts.
