How we got our start In 1979 a high school math teacher wanted a retail store. He looked at all sorts of apparel eventually landing on hats, there would be zero competition. A good friend said: “There is a good reason you don’t have competition, hats went out style with President Kennedy. You have bats in your belfry!” What makes our product unique Creativity drives Hats in the Belfry. Most hat retailers select their inventory from a catalog. One from column A. Two from column B. We travel the world. Asia, Europe and even the USA. We spend hours researching styles, materials, bands, and trimmings. Result? A hat you’ll love for a long time.
