- Ensure that the burr is clamped securely in the tool – the minimum clamping depth is 2/3 of the shank length
- Use both hands to ensure a strong grip. Rest the tool on your hip for better stability
- Using swinging motion and light pressure, pass the tool rapidly over the workpiece in the direction of rotation, letting the speed do the work. Excess pressure can cause overheating, premature dulling or breaking
