This stand is meant for a phone, by itself, and it does a good job of being a phone stand! It’s sturdy, and being able to turn it is neat.

Involving a charging cable is way less-convenient on this stand than the solid one-piece metal stand I came from. The back grip isn’t strong enough to prevent my phone from sliding upwards when plugging in from the bottom, so I have to connect the cable before placing the phone down. I can’t pull the charging cable out of my phone while it’s on this stand as it pulls the entire stand down onto the charging cable, which makes it a pain to try to pull out quickly, which has me hunching over at my phone in some awkward position to do whatever quick task I wanted.

It’s good for a phone stand, but inconvenient if involving a charging cable in portrait mode.

I tried the AnHome Magnetic Phone Ring Holder on both my wife’s phone and mine. It worked well even through a case with a leather back. The other case has is clear silicone and there’s not enough friction even with the magnet for the device to stay attached. This will work amazing for a phone that has no case, but I don’t know anyone carrying around $1000 phone without a case. It works well in the situations it works, but it’s disappointing it doesn’t work for all my applications.
