My dachshund has a severe flea allergy. I’ve had to resort to keeping her cone on nearly 24/7 and keep her under constant watch because she rips all her hair out and causes herself to get hotspots. As soon as I would step out of the room or turn my back, she would resume itching and chewing. First image is from when she managed to get her cone off for 30-60 minutes as I was making dinner. She would literally itch til her skin was bleeding, it was BAD. And Benadryl was not helping.
All that to say, after only about FOUR DAYS of her being on these (+ the fish oil from the same company, idk if the outcome is from one or the other or a combination of both), she is now cone-less, and hardly EVER itches now! I feel 100% comfortable leaving her out of my sight for hours, which is a huge relief. The change was gradual but noticeable over the days, where she would itch/chew less frequently and less aggressively, and now it’s too the point where I don’t think she’s itching at all. Second picture is her currently, finally comfortable and at ease finally as her flea prevention does its job. I can’t believe it took me this long to try this stuff out, it’s definitely going to become an annual summer purchase for me

Ok, here it is mid/ late summer and I have been using this product since spring on my Yorkie. Results have been impressive. Kipper had such a severe allergy to grass that he would chew at his feet every time after being outside. Cytopoint did not work for him and I was frustrated, having to wash his feet every morning after our trail run and after every time he would go out. Even then he would still chew some. I did not want to put him on steroids. Enter Native Pet. Within a few days I noticed his chewing was greatly diminished. Now, late summer, he still is not chewing! I am so impressed that I told his vet about this product and he is going to look into it. Thank you, Native Pet! I don’t know what in the world you put in this stuff but it works! Also, my very picky Kip LOVES these and thinks he is getting a special treat! That alone is amazing.
I buy these for my dog who has very itchy skin and noticed a difference within a week. We also give him the pumpkin and omega oil by native pet and those are amazing too. I buy native pet as a gift for my families pets and I recommend all of their products to anyone who talks to me about their dog and ask for recommendations on products.
Began giving this product because I have a French bulldog who has horrible allergies. The size of the chews are inconsistent and I had to cut them up to make them small enough for my 30 lb and under dogs. My French bulldog eats grain-free, gluten-free food, (nothing but the finest), but her itchiness/allergies became so bad that we actually had to put her on Apoquel. I was really hopeful that these chews would be the answer, but they haven’t seem to help her at all. I had another dog with a sensitive stomach and these worked great for her! After giving her these chews, she started happily eating her morning and evening meals. Really seemed to help her, but has not done anything for my dog that is itchy and miserable!! ☹️The first two bottles of this product that I received were so incredibly rock hard and dry that I could barely cut them with a knife. My dogs struggled to chew them, but I just assumed this is the nature of the product so I didn’t complain, but I actually stopped my subscription because of this. As soon as I ran out, the dog with the digestive issues started being picky about eating again, so I bought another bottle. This time they were softer and easier for my dogs to chew. They do seem to like the flavor and eat them readily when they are soft enough to chew! Unfortunately, they have not helped my dog with allergies, which was the reason for the purchase. Sadly, we still have no itch relief after 3 months.
Not every dog is the same, so I realize results could vary among different ages, lifestyles, diets, breeds and environments of dogs. That being said, I have two mini Aussies. One is a red merle, the other a blue merle. My red merle, Cosmo, would constantly lick his feet and scratch his ears. And his bean pads were black! I know this was due to some sort of allergy. I began home cooking for my dogs (a balanced diet by canine nutritionist) and make large batches. I pre-portion in glass jars and freeze. All organic food… I know, I’m nuts but my boys are my best friends and I want them to live forever.
I had noticed when I started cooking for my dogs (it’s almost been a full year since I started), Cosmo’s bean pads started turning pink again! He began itching and licking his feet less and less. I was blown away. Recently though, I made a batch of food with beef as the protein source, both muscle and organ meat. I try to alternate between poultry, pork, fish and beef to provide different nutrient sources and give them some variety. I noticed his beans started to show signs of blackening again with the beef recipe, and he started itching and licking. Frustrated but already a happy customer of Native Pet with their bone broth powder and urinary health chews, I decided to buy the allergy chews to see if it could reverse some of Cosmo’s effects. Within a day, his paws were turning pink again! The first chew! I know with bigger dogs, it says to start with two chews a day, but my dogs fall under the weight limit specified, so I give them both one a day. He is getting better with consistency, while still eating the beef recipe.
I think people fail to realize animals can suffer from the same ailments humans do… allergies included. Perhaps maybe he does have an allergy to or is more sensitive to beef, so I’ll stick with other meat sources and continue to use these in conjunction with the homemade dog food to see how well it clears up the skin allergies. He is going to be nine this year and he still looks and acts like a puppy. He is a happy boy and dog’s can’t tell us, “hey, I think I have a skin allergy.”
I like to think I can try to defy their life expectancy odds by going the extra mile and cooking for them, giving them supplements to improve their quality of life. You don’t always need to run to the vet and rack up a hefty bill for every little thing, and get all these prescription ointments and pills that then become something your dog is reliant on and then boom, you’re a customer. Sucked into a gimmick that oftentimes can be remedied by alternative, holistic treatment. Remember, many veterinarians do not care about your pets. They care about creating “clients” not patients. Modern medicine has its place, absolutely, but nature provides so much. Treat your fuzzy friends with the care and respect they deserve. They aren’t here for a long time, but you are the center of their entire world. They don’t have a voice so you’re going to hear mine.
