My original review of this product is still listed below. However, I felt I needed to update it to include the unexpected, yet absolutely incredible customer service I received from this company!

I wrote my original review basically to say that the camera is awesome and takes incredible pictures, but there were some connectivity issues. The company’s response was to contact me directly and offer me a free replacement camera, without requiring me to return the original one, and to give me a refund for the purchase of the original. Surprise 😳, and shock were my response. Not only that, but they continued to communicate with me to make sure I was satisfied. I would recommend any company that supports and stands by their product as well as this one has, and I will do business with them again if I ever need one of their products.

Original Review:
This camera/microscope works wonderful, as long as it is working. The only issue I have with this camera is that it freezes after about 3-4 pictures are taken, and there’s nothing that I have found to prevent this, or to even know how many pictures you’ll get before it happens. It happens 100% of the time I use it. I finally get it connected to see on my phone, focus in, take 2 pics, and frozen screen again. SOMETIMES you can disconnect it from the phones wifi, turn it completely off, close the app completely (not in standby, but completely closed), then try to reconnect again. This only works about 50% of the time though. You normally just need to be glad you got 2-3 pics, then try again in a few hours or the next day. Quality is worth the money paid, even the intermittent nature is almost worth the cost, but it’s really a hassle most of the time just to get it to work properly.

I haven’t been able to use the new camera that I was given, so I can’t update the original review yet, but I will try to remember to change it if the new camera doesn’t have the issues the original one did. Again, I would like to point out that the camera is easy to use, and takes incredibly detailed microscopic pictures and is worth the price paid!

This was easy to use. Just plugged USB to my macbook and worked on Photo Booth app. I used it to fix my skipping record. I had tried other solutions but the last resort was to use a needle and force the groove. I haven’t tested the wireless function, but I’m sure it will be fun and useful in the future. The focus knob worked well and the LED light was useful.

By placing the clear housing down on the surface holding the item you want to focus on, both focus points work great. Using the little stand that comes with it does not seem to work to get things in focus. It worked great for identifying tiny bugs, etc..

I use this microscope to look at plant material. The image quality is FAR from 4k, but its good enough to spot a TON of details that are too small for the naked eye.

If you are looking to use this scope to take photos, get something else. The photos are not going to be good enough to be proud of.

If you are using this scope just to look at small stuff, it rocks. Buy it.

This required NO Drivers (I do not trust drivers from small companies). Windows picked up the camera like a webcam and it worked perfectly.

Power button breaks after a while

Power button only lasts a few months, then breaks. It gets stuck in the down position, leaving us unable to power it on any more. Happened with 2 of these in a row.
Now the price is higher, its time for us to look for another option. Looking at 2 dead ones right now, plants need to be scoped today and we are just out of luck on that one.
If its for a mission critical use, don’t get this thing. If its okay if it works or not again tomorrow, this is a cheap and easy to use option.

EDIT: customer service reached out to me about this product. They were concerned about my review, and wanted to make things right. I guess maybe I got a bad unit maybe? Regardless the customer service was amazing, offered me a refund or a new unit, reached out to me without me reaching out to them, very polite and courteous, really wanted to make things right. Can’t help a bad unit, but what I seen with this company is people trying to do their best and make things right, 4 stars because I don’t think the overall experience was worth 5, but the customer service alone and the unprompted help I received was more than enough to bring this from 1-4 stars. Anyone wanting to buy, I hope your unit was better than mine, rest assured customer service has your back though and will strive to make things right if anything does happen to go wrong or be unsatisfactory. Honestly I think finding customer service these days that cares about the value and quality delivered by the product is a rare thing, real customer service seemingly is a dying breed, here though you can rest assured that my experience was indeed significantly improved by customer service. Nope this helps!

Save your money, I have singular macro lenses that screw on to my phone and give 10 times the quality of this product, this product feels cheap, doesn’t work well, requires an app to use which is absolutely terrible in and of itself, the image quality is poor if you can even get it to focus, save your money do not buy. You’ve been warned.

Easy to set up and use. (I am not techy so I was a bit concerned) The only reason for 4 stars was the plastic bracket that holds microscope to the stand snapped pretty easily so holding it still is an issue sometimes .

As a desktop microscope, it does a solid job. Though when being used as a handheld, it is incredibly hard to actually get the knob rotated to focus the desired amount because it gets very sticky at some points. The microscope has its own wifi that needs to be connected to as opposed to connected to your local wifi which isn’t a huge deal. All other microscopes seem to also be cheap Chinese products (grammar in the manual is almost broken English) so who knows how much better this is than the other ones.
