I feel compelled to write this review even though the price of the item was 6 or 7 dollars and is like reviewing a chicken sandwich from McDonalds. However, at least a chicken sandwich from McDonald’s will actually be useful for a few minutes and provide a human being some nourishment.
These adapters look really nice. Then you plug them in.
The first thing you notice is the wobble that exists for the USB-C connector. I am not sure how every other USB-C cable I own has zero wobble, but I guess those manufacturers felt that the wobble feature should not be included. Of course, there were two adapters in the package, so clearly it’s just one that might have had a manufacturing defect, right? Nope. Connector #2 wobbled the same. Ok, but if it works and solves my problem of carrying around a bunch of cables, then I can probably deal with a little wobble.
That leads me to problem B… it doesn’t work. And when i say it doesn’t work, I don’t mean it doesn’t do anything at all. No. That would actually be preferred. At least I’d know it was just a piece of garbage. Instead, it does this half second of charging not charging over and over again. That beep that occurs every time you plug in, beep, beep, beep, beep….
I start testing cable after cable and wonder if I have bad lightning cables. They all seem to work fine on my iPhone. Plug in this USB-C adapter and beep, beep, beep. It’s like my iPad is on life support.
These adapters get 1 star from me only because I can’t do negative stars. They aren’t worth my effort to return, so if you’re the manufacturer, don’t bother to suggest that. I hope everyone reads this and you never sell another one of these again.
To anyone reading this review, use your money more wisely and buy a McDonald’s chicken sandwich. At least the regret will be minimal.
