I bought this inverter to use at flea markets, which usually have no power. I have a table display to offer IPTV service. My setup has a 24″ television, a Lenovo laptop, and uses a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 cell phone to provide Internet service. This inverter, using a Dewalt 6AH 20 volt battery powers all the devices for about 4 hours. It has a built-in USB outlet, and I use a triple plug adapter for the TV and Laptop. I have a backup Dewalt 4AH battery which adds another 3 hours. Most flea markets run for about 6 hours, so this works out well. Other reviews mentioned that this inverter has trashed their batteries, and that the internal fan runs all the time and drains the battery. The fan only comes on periodically when needed, and the inverter shuts down when the battery needs recharging. I am really delighted with this device. I wasn’t sure it would work for me when I ordered it, but I am pleasantly surprised with the performance.

So, I left a dewalt battery attached to this thing. I didn’t have anything plugged in, just battery attached to inverter. It completely killed that battery pack in 3 days. I had to throw it in the trash, the charger wouldn’t even recognize it as needing charging afterward. I’m assuming it fried a cell, or cooked a component on the small circuit inside. As a side note when something was plugged in it was just a usb device and I unplugged after just a few minutes, so it wasn’t me trying to run some large appliance off it. It’s now in the emergency use only category. This cheap Chinese inverter CAN destroy a $50 dewalt battery if left plugged in.

Destroyed one of my DeWalt batteries after using it I left it overnight attached but powered off and the charging chip in the battery will not accept charge on the battery anymore. Otherwise it works for small devices that don’t require a lot of energy I have not tried or tested if it’ll work with anything higher than rated cuz that could damage the parts or battery. But 50 to 100 watt works great

I appreciate that and this is my response.
No issue, I paid very little for this item to avoid the outrageous cost of the name brand offered by DeWalt. I didn’t expect it to work as well as it does so thank you. Just offering a warning to disconnect from battery when done for others. The DeWalt version requires two batteries puts out higher amperage on its ac voltage but cost $350 I think I paid somewhere around $20 for this. We’re good. Thank you for reaching out I appreciate it.
(looked it up 20 bucks was wrong I paid $35 still I’m happy they reached out. My sense of humor is a little off but I didn’t write this review to get something out of them their product works and I’ve been warned that this can happen with tools and devices purchased for lower prices on Amazon)

Firstly, this has functioning low voltage protection, which is good. A whole lot of generic tools and accessories like this for cordless too batteries do not have functioning, or well functioning, “low voltage protection” aka “over discharge protection.” Meaning that, during use, they allow your battery to be drawn down to such a low voltage that they never recover. This renders batteries permanently weak or just plain ruined. This is first thing I test, especially on an accessories that can reasonably be expected to be used unattended at all, ie not a drill, but certainty any accessory with USB ports, convenience light or flood light, light, fan or inverter. I am getting a cut off at 14.3v which is good protection.

This is not trivial since I got a near identical looking but older version from another vendor nine months ago that had no low voltage protection, and I tossed it right in the trash since it would certainly be a battery killer. I am fairly confident this version has been properly updated to add a small low voltage protection circuit.

NOTE: You will still, just like any OEM tool/accessory, want battery disconnected when not in use due to tiny milliamp draw. But you have to do that with a official Dewalt inverter and tools anyway. I tis never a good idea to leave your spendy batteries attached to anything, official or non official, for storage periods.

On the inverter aspect, if you plan you want to be able directly use 20v, or at very least USB source instead of converted A/C with this. Since for example powering your laptop by going through an inverter process and then back down via the laptops own power supply is doubling of inefficacy loss. Other issues with inversion is this is not exactly clean for direct to electronics, and it is just 200w. 200w means do NOT use this for anything that creates heat (coffee maker, hair dryer). Also do not use this for important equipment that needs clean and quality sine wave AC. But you sure can use its 115V.A/C on a laptop of you are stuck. I would limit to 1.5amp 120v/3amp peak items, as I see no external fuse. it does have an internal cooling fan.

On features I like this (separately switched) low power light. Lots of cordless tool ecosystem work lights here are so powerful that, even on “low”, they only go two hours or so and are not good for say a tent light, or natural disaster light.

Finally the USB ports are convenient. Keep in mind they are definably not PD or QC smart protocols and are dumb ports that will do 2.1a at 5v and no more. So the USBs are fine for slow charge of phones and most tablets, as well as to run another light, USB fan, etc., but not anything relying on PD or QC protocol to kick up voltage.
