The workforce is changing. In fact, it’s already changed. The pandemic has forced many employers to allow their employees to work from home, at least part time. And, as we all know, Baby Boomers are the largest demographic in the workforce.
So, what does that mean for those of us who are over 55 and looking for work? It means there are more opportunities than ever to find work-from-home jobs.
And, yes, you can find work-from-home jobs even if you don’t have any experience. Here are five such jobs:
1. Social Media Manager
If you’re active on social media and have a large following, you could be the perfect candidate for a social media manager job. As a social media manager, you would be responsible for creating and managing social media accounts for businesses or individuals.
You would also be responsible for creating content, engaging with followers, and growing the number of followers. Experience with various social media platforms is a must for this job. And, if you have previous experience working in marketing or public relations, that would be a plus.
2. Virtual Assistant
A virtual assistant is someone who provides administrative support to businesses or individuals from a remote location. As a virtual assistant, you could be responsible for tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing email accounts, and managing social media accounts.
You would need strong administrative and organizational skills to be successful in this role. And, if you have experience working in customer service or sales, that would be a plus.
3. Customer Service Representative
If you have strong communication skills and enjoy helping others, a job as a customer service representative may be the perfect fit for you. As a customer service representative, you would provide support to customers via phone, email, or chat. You would need to be able to resolve customer issues in a timely and efficient manner. And, if you have previous experience working in customer service or sales, that would be a plus as well. 4 Web Developer/Designer If you’re creative and have experience coding or designing websites , then a job as web developer or designer may be perfect for you . In this role , you’d be responsible for creating and designing websites . You’d need strong technical skills as well as creativity and an eye for detail . 5 Online Teacher/Tutor If you’re knowledgeable in a particular subject area , then consider becoming an online teacher or tutor . You can teach students of all ages , from elementary school to college level . To qualify , most online teaching platforms require that you have at least a bachelor’s degree . Some platforms also require that you have teaching experience . So , if you’re looking for an online teaching job but don’t have any teaching experience , consider becoming a tutor instead . These are just five of the many work-from-home jobs that are available right now . So , if you’re over 55 and looking for work , don’t despair . There are plenty of opportunities out there —you just need to know where to look .
